THE YVONNE H. OLIVER SCHOLARSHIP

Yvonne H. Oliver (December, 1924 - July, 2014) was a beautiful woman who dedicated her heart and soul to the loving, caring, and teaching children, their families, and friends. She opened Treasure House, one of the 1st Day Care and Education Centers for children in the Charleston area and accomplished her heart’s desire by serving Charleston families, the Charleston County community, and the state of South Carolina. She was dedicated to education, caregiving, and sharing all that she had. It was her hope that all people would care for and give to others, no matter what their needs.

Before Yvonne’s death, she asked that no flowers or other remembrances be dedicated to her. Instead, she asked that donations be made to The Point Is to start a scholarship fund to benefit young women who demonstrate a dedication to giving to others and their community through acts of kindness, service, and sharing. In her honor, The Point Is established the Yvonne H. Oliver Scholarship Fund in 2014 and scholarships have been awarded annually since 2015 to a deserving high school senior.
